Even if you are not a Trump supporter, (And I am not by any means) you must have gotten a small chuckle out of that. I don’t even follow politics or know what party I am or am even registered to vote, but I saw this meme this morning on Facebook and I had to smile and laugh a little bit…
…..I mean if anything Trump does look a little bit like that camel…
Anyways today started off like a bad bad hangover for Americans. A lot of people are very disappointed with the outcome of the election last night.
A few of my friends were fired up about it and shared their opinions of it on the Facebook. Even the children at school this morning were talking about the election and how Trump was elected and not Hilary. I don’t think at that age I even knew what voting was, let alone who was in the election, but they like the rest of America, were all to happy to share their opinions. Some even watched the election last night. (Which I was very shocked at!)
Personally I was all set last night eating Mexican food (my favorite) and sipping on a pitcher of Sangria, worrying about an article I read in Cosmo about how to sleep anywhere. (I mean this article was great…it taught you how to legit sleep anywhere, be it be a plane, train or even automobile.)
Sure I watched like 10 minutes of the election, so I wouldn’t be completely clueless, worried about it for a hot second, turned it off and went to bed, worrying instead how much more Guac and Sangria I could consume in the near future.
So to try and take America’s hangover down a notch today, (If you really wanted to, you could call me the Bloody Mary of this hangover) I wanted to share a few of my outfit choices with everyone. Obviously I know it won’t change the outcome that Trump was elected, but it might help to hopefully take the edge off.
The first one I wore to the office yesterday and was also able to glam it up for my late night Mexican Haven. I love multi purpose, multi hour outfits!
This “dress” was actually a shirt that was literally 10 sizes to big for me. 10 sizes, that’s HUGE I know! Normally with “dresses” I can fit into a 3-4, but this one was a 13-14. You may be thinking, why on earth did I buy it and did it even fit? Well yes to it fitting (yayy) and for the reason I bought it….
Well I saw it out of the corner of my eye at Savers when I went ( $9.99) and without hesitation I threw it in my cart. Later (after I had purchased it) I realized it may be a little too big, but I figured I would make it work somehow.
To my surprise it worked very well as a dress and went very well with my black tights and my black motorcycle booties. ( Wet Seal on sale, $5.99)
Since the shoulders were super embellished and super off the shoulder, I knew I wanted and needed a necklace that was simple enough and would not take away from the embellishments. Cue my fake pearl and silver balled-drop necklace ($3.99 from Savers). Total outfit cost: $19.97.
Quick tip: Like that documentary Super Size Me never take advantage of an over- sized extra- large shirt. In this case the Super Size will not make you feel sick and have you gain weight, but will instead make a shirt into a retro dress and more.
To jazz it up for the night all I added, believe it or not, was my brand new NYX liquid Suede, lipstick in Matte Vintage shade and matching lip liner. I put the lipstick on and instantly fell in love with the color. I also added a bit of lengthening mascara because who doesn’t like a good length ( get your mind out of the guuters) and boom my look went from office appropriate, to Kylie Jenner sans Ferrari, in just a matter of 5 minutes.
My next outfit and the outfit I wore for today I like to call Hipster with a side of Class. (You will understand when I show you the picture.)
Sometimes yes, I associate myself with being a hipster. My boss at the office certainly classifies me as a hipster on a day to day basis all because I like vegetables, I used to ride my bike everywhere, I used to live in California and I love love love coffee shops.
You get the picture.
In this case scenario, yes, Hipster was the only way to go.
Simple black pants (Savers $9.99); a thin white shirt with a low back and a white lace overlay, that certainly adds a bit of class to it (Savers $6.99); my favorite button up Mustard yellow Cardigan (Good Will $5.99) and my new Cheetah Print Oxford Shoes ($4.00 from Addicted to Thrift). Total cost: $26.97. Calling all hipsters!
So unlike Trump last night, I would like to say “God Bless America! With 2 Outfits under $30.00, 1 Lousy election hangover, and a banging, easy- to -wear style, I conclude this morning’s post and I hope I was able to bring a little light to the present situation. Always keep it Grand and Secondhand.”
Until Fabulous Friday!
